Motshaotshele Colliery Mining Project
In February 2015, Areshomeng contracted Trollipe Mining services to develop and operate the Motshaotshele Colliery, open-pit coal mine in Carolina, Mpumalanga.
Pre-production development started with the first blast in November 2018, and the services Trollipe is providing include:
- Pre-site development and construction
- Open-pit planning and development
- Stripping
- Blasting
- Coal extraction and crushing
- Haul/Access road construction
- Maintenance
The mine will have a 15-year life and will produce 500mt of coal annually. The open pit operations will deliver coal feed to the 6,000-ton-per-day.
